In the run-up to the International Conference on Recognition the MODUS project of the German Rectors' Conference (HRK), the Coordinating Committee of the Student Accreditation Pool (KASAP), the European Students Union (ESU), the Erasmus Student Network (ESN), the Federal Association of Physician Assistance Students Germany (BVPAD) and the German Federal Student Councils Conference on Economics (BuFaK WiWi) jointly organized the Student Pre-Conference “Involving Students in Establishing Recognition Policies and Procedures”.

The Pre-Conference brought together international students from Europe and beyond to share their experiences and views on academic recognition. Three workshops, led by representatives of the participating student organizations, discussed best practices, open issues, and possible solutions. Student speakers presented their main findings during the main conference and effectively contributed to the International Conference on Recognition with one voice. Liv Muthfrom the German Coordination Committee of the Student Accreditation Pool (KASAP), emphasized that in the meantime a lot has been achieved with regard to recognition practices in universities, but  they should better communicate it to their target groups, mainly students and teachers.
